"Stakeholders Problem Analysis Meetings” will be held on 5th – 8th December 2009 in Gökova, Akyaka District  within Gökova Special Environmental Protection Area Integrated Marine and Coastal Management Planning Project executing by BBI Matra foundation and SAD-AFAG in corporation with EPASA, MARA, Eurosite, Rubicon.
 
Broad local participation and wide interest of the stakeholders are observed in the meetings organized on the project area. Stakeholder Meetings are grouped in sectoral basis and they will consist of Yachting and Boat Tours Group, Fishermen Group, Tourism Group,Local Communities and NGOs Group, Farmers and Agriculturists Group respectively.

"Stakeholders Meetings" is initiated on 5^th December 2009 at 10:00 - 13:00 with Yachting and Boat Tours Group assembly in Gökova, Akyaka.

Ministry of Environment and Forestry Environmental Protection Areas Special Agency representatives, Municipality Parliament representative, Marmaris Chamber of Maritime Trade representatives, Çamlı Village Headman, Kıran Village Headman, Akyaka Marine Shipper Cooperative Headman and members, Çamlı Marine Transporters Cooperative Headman and members, Bodrum Mariners Association Headman, Gökova Sail Club Headman, Azmak tour boats  representative, boat enterprises representative, Bodrum Tour Boats Captains representative, boat owners, local media, Gökova Akyaka Lovers Association Headman and famous sailors Sadun Boro and Haluk Kahramanoğlu and other mariners and sailors from Okluk Bay contributed to the meeting. Meeting is coordinated by GAS-DER President and project consultant Bahar Suseven and SAD-AFAG Gökova Project Manager N. Ozan Veryeri and Project Assistant Eren Özden.

“Gökova Stakeholders Problem Analysis Meeting” is implemented together with 33 personal or representative participants from different relevant stakeholder groups related in utilization and/or constitution of Gökova Integrated Marine and Coastal Management Planning.  In the invitation and participation at of sectoral representatives, it is considered to represent different parts of the project area covering whole Gökova SEPA Area.

After welcoming speech of Project Manager N. Ozan Veryeri,  project introductory information is shared with the participants and Project Informal Document is distributed. General subjects of the meeting and problem tree technique as the methodology to be used are explained to the participants. Problems within “Yachting and Boat Tours” sector in SEPA Area are equally and impartially collected from participants with the designated method. In problem analysis part of the meeting, collected problems are placed on the board, classified according their linkages and problem analysis took its final version after all participants expressed their thoughts and comments on the pinned issues

At the end of the meeting four general problems are seen at the center of the mentioned issues by Gökova SEPA “Yachting and Boat Tours” Group. These issues can be listed as; Ecologic Problems and Contamination, Infrastructure Problems, Lack of Management Models and Communication Problems. 

Project Stakeholder Problem Analysis Meetings will continue with “Fishermen” stakeholder group assembly on 6 December 2009 Sunday at 13:30 -17:30 in Gökova, Akyaka.
